Buddy's normal sitter wasn't available so one of our neighbors (who has watched him before) was able to fill in for half of the day & the other half of the day Buddy got to go to work with Dad!
Then I rode the train down to John's work & we went to temple square to see the lights. Buddy really liked it. I think one of his favorite parts was the all white nativity set up by (and Mary & Joseph & the baby Jesus were in) the reflecting pool. He really liked the contrast of white against the dark water.
We had to explain to him that the sound of water didn't mean it was bath time and that he couldn't try to eat the sheep (like he does with our Fisher Price nativity at home). Due to the cold and Buddy's short attention span (even in his stroller), we only stayed 45 minutes or so.
Then it was off to deliver small Christmas gifts to our friends in our neighborhood. Most of the families weren't home but we did get to sing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" to a three or four of them.
By the time we got home it was just a little past Buddy's normal bed time but we could tell he was getting tired (and Mom & Dad were too). So into pj's and one last puke / spit up all down Mom's front, then it was time to go to sleep.
Next year, I think we will space out our Christmas cheer a bit.
